United health care insurance to cover prescription drug?

i just got a short term insurance to help me cover the cost of accutane? does anyone know how much? and if it is worth it?

if not does anyone know any better health insurance plans to help me cover for it?

Answers:

Short term policies generally do not cover pre-existing conditions and most don't cover anything until you reach the deductible. A short term policy is only meant for catastrophic coverage while you are between permanent policies. The United Health policy specifically states that it does't cover any condition which you've received treatment for within the last 24 months.

You will need to get a permanent policy to cover the accutane. However, depending upon why you are taking the accutane the policy may not cover it as a pre-existing condition for a period of time, which can be a year or more, or they may decline to cover you at all. You'll need to talk with a local independent agent to find a plan that's best for your situation. Do not try to do this on the internet because you'll end up in the same situation as you're in now.

There is a free prescription drug card that may give you some help while you're trying to find another policy. You can sign up for it here http://drugcardamerica.com/index.aspx?af... and print the card directly from your computer. Since it's free it doesn't hurt to try.
