Did I retear my acl?!

Question:

Did I retear my acl?

I tore my acl last year and had it reconstructed

I was at a football camp and were were doing tests, I was doing the pro agility drill which you go side to side complicated but if you play football you probably know what I am talking about. Anyways I made a quick cut and I just fell. I had instant pain but it wasn't as bad as the first time I don't recall a pop but i don't remember i was more in a panic then anything. I was able to get up and walk away without any assistance. My knee felt loose as the trainer says but since I already hurt it before it may be the normal for that knee. There wasn't much swelling but I did have muscle spasms. My knee was stiff and sore for about 2 days. its been 4 days since it happened I have no pain at all. I can move side to side and i can back pedal a bit. I can do like a side to side movement without any problem. it feels a little unstable when i squat down and turn to the side opposite of the knee. God I hope i didn't re tear it.

Answers:

Sounds like at the very least you have partially torn the ACL graft unfortunately. It is normal to feel no after affects after a few days. I strongly recommend you go see your orthopedic surgeon and have him/her feel your knee to see if it is loose. You SHOULD NOT have a loose knee after surgery...the point of the surgery is to make the knee stable after tearing the ACL. You probably need an MRI to determine the extent of any damage. Best of luck.
