I would make an appointment tomorrow with your primary doctor, who might refer you to a cardiologist. Don't wait.

Hi BLAAAAA!

Boy, I bet that's how you feel!!!!!

I agree with the other people who say to get this checked out ASAP by a doctor. You don't want to take a chance with anything serious or heart related.

However, if you do get a "clean bill of health" from the doctor, you may be dealing with GERD, acid reflux and heartburn. In some people, the LES (lower esophageal sphincter that's supposed to keep the acid in your stomach) opens and lets stomach acid into your esophagus where the acid burns the delicate tissues and causes major pain. When you lay down after you eat, more acid is allowed in and causes problems.

One way to avoid this is not to eat at least 2 hours before you lay down so that your stomach has a chance to empty. When you do lay down, either raise the head of your bed a couple of inches or prop yourself up with pillows so gravity can help you.

You might try eating a small handful of raw almonds after you eat as they seem to help prevent heartburn.

Good luck!

Please go see your primary care physician so they can rule out anything cardiac in nature. They may do an EKG and or cardiac enzymes on you if you have certain risk factors such as previous heart attack, coronary artery disease, diabetes, high cholesterol.

In the meanwhile, eat a light dinner early... and don't lie down immdiately after eating.

It could be reflux... but your best bet is to see your MD asap.

hope this helps.

Do you have a history of heartburn? You may need to prop yourself up when you sleep to avoid it. Go see a doctor just to be sure, but try an over-the-counter antacid in the meantime.

Go to a doctor, sounds like something very serious only responding to pressure.
