How do you know if tour shin is bruised or if it is a hairline stress fracture?!

Question: How do you know if tour shin is bruised or if it is a hairline stress fracture?
Last week I accidentally got kicked directly in my shine; right on the bone (tibia). It's swelled and left a pretty good bruise. It still hurts today and the pain is getting worse. I accidentally bumped it into a machine at the gym today and now it's even more swollen. How do I know if the bone is just bruised or of I have a hairline fracture??? Help! Please!

X-ray

Only Way to really know is to have an XRAY. A kick prob. wouldnt cause a hairline fracture, but i guess if it was hard enough it's possible....like really really hard, or if he had steel toe boots on.

Prob. Just a bone bruise, they hurt bad, and the shrin is a sensitive area.

A piece of rebar went into my shin and scrapped across the tibia, bad bad....had xray, doc. said it was ok, Bones are really really tough. Although i thought I saw a small small hairline "mark" where the rebar went in the furthest.

You'll be ok just ice and heat and elevate, it will take some time to heal because that's a sensitive are, but if it doesnt heal in like a month or month and a half then go see your doc if it still hurts.....

even if you went to see the doc i dont think there's much they can do other than recoment rest, or a "boot"......looked this up

However, I am in no way qualified to give medical advice, but from my experience it's sound
