Is it possible to hurt my ankle driving?!
Question:
Is it possible to hurt my ankle driving?
This feels like a stupid question...and I feel like a panzy for asking it...but oh well...the 2 cars I've been driving regularly for the past 5 years are both stick shift, and my left ankle has been hurting steadily lately. It only happens when I drive wearing my boots. Part of me wants to blame it on the boots...tho I doubt it cuz I've been wearing boots forever without any problems...and part of me wants to blame it on working the clutch. I haven't been driving any more than I normally do...so whats the most likely cause? The clutch? The boots? Mix of the two? I haven't injured my ankle or anything. Ironically my ankle tends to hurt more when I drive my car...which has a very light clutch, rather than my truck, which has a much heavier clutch than the car. To add I also sometimes get a pain in my knee as well...but not as often as the ankle...
Answers:
Most learner drivers in the UK get this problem at some point, because of that damn clutch! We tend to be too tense, which stiffens the muscles because we're terrified that if we relax, we'll crash! American teenagers have it so easy.
