The migraine is likely a result of the neck strain - though there are a lot of migraine triggers if you put enough stress on your neck, it'll trigger one as well if you're already prone to them.

One thing to think about is if you're having any problems breathing, either nasal stuffiness or asthma. When we have difficulty breathing when sleeping, we involuntarily tend to tilt our head back to open the airway further to bring in more oxygen. It's similar to what you'd do to a patient prior to performing CPR. The resulting neck stress for several hours often gives you a headache along with a stiff neck.

If you're not sick or you don't have asthma, consider anything new in the bedroom that could cause an allergic reaction - new pillow, blanket, clothing, pet, etc. If you've got a new pillow, consider whether or not it's giving you enough neck support as well.

Don't forget any OTC or prescription meds that you might be taking that are new and could be having an adverse effect on your breathing, as well as any creams, lotions, detergents, etc.

The trick is to narrow down when it started, and then use a process of elimination to determine anything new in your sleep routine or health patterns.
