In what way is my knee injured?!

Question: In what way is my knee injured?
When I was 13 (about 7 years ago) I was chasing someone and hit the inside of my knee on a vertical metal pole like the ones you sometimes see between double doors. The pain was so bad i passed out from it and I had to quit running for 2 years. Since then I've had really bad knee pain. It's focused on the inside of my knee but is also above, below and directly on top of me knee cap. It's like the pain has spread over the years. If I run too much or sit cross-legged my knee will throb with pain a few hours later. Also, it's gotten to the point where sometimes it hurts just to walk. YOu can also feel it "creek" when I move it almost like geers in a machine that need oil. If you any idea of what's wrong I'd appareciate an explanation just so I know more about what I can do to keep it from further injury or if I need a procedure done on it.
Thank you!!!

It sounds like a fracture or at least it was. If this was the case, the bone could have healed the wrong way causing your pain now. Go to an orthopedic surgeon. They will definitely want to do xrays and feel your knee. If they cannot find the cause of your pain after xrays and an MRI, they might consider doing an arthroscope to look around and see whats wrong.

You really need to get it looked at, there are so many things that could be wrong. It may end up getting worse than it already is. Your best bet is just to see a doctor.
