Question: Is this an ubilical hernia?
i was diagnosed with a umbilical hernia and have surgery monday. my question is. should a hernia like this hurt real bad because it does and my back hurts. is this normal radiated or refored pain? Also there is no lump or bumb on my skin but if i push real hard on my navel i can feel tight muscles

Hurting is normal, as an umbilical hernia is a protrusion to the abdominal lining. And you are not feeling tight muscles, you are feeling tender blood vessels. Try applying small heat. if the pain is so sever, and does not get better, i would advise medical attention.
