Pain or cramp in leg?!

Question: Pain or cramp in leg?
Well this is the first time that this has happened to me. I just woke up and my left leg started hurting like crazy (below the knee) and every time I tried to move it I felt like crying. I held it still and just started rubbing it a bit and it hurt less, but I still can't lift my foot up all the way, and I can't walk on it.
What's going on? Was it a cramp or something, and why?

Some pains like that are caused by tight muscles in the lower back which press into the nerves going to your legs to cause pains in them. You have to free up the back muscles to get rid of the pressure on the nerves and here's how to do that:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

Could have been a cramp, depends on where in your leg it is hurting. I've had shin-splints before (tiny fractures in your shins from overuse), and those hurt pretty bad, like a sharp pain. They can come and go. If it's still hurting in the morning you should get it checked out.
