What can I do to motive myself to get out of bed, while in severe pain?!

Question:

What can I do to motive myself to get out of bed, while in severe pain?

I'm in so much pain in the morning, I hardly can walk or bend over to brush my teeth. I had two major surgies on my neck and back in a malicious car incident. What can I do to motive myself to get out of bed?

Answers:

Here's my best tips:
1.now that it's getting warmer out, go to bed in pj's that are kind of warm. at night it will feel comforting, but in the morning you'll get really hot and actually want to get out of bed.
2.plan more interesting breakfasts. kinda goofy, but trust me, it works. when you're laying in bed, hurting, nothing sounds better than banana walnut pancakes (or whatever it is you like)
3.go to bed with the telephone in another room, but close enough that you can hear it ring. I used to do this, then had my boyfriend call me before he went to work. That way I HAD to get up to go get it.
4.give yourself a reason! get up to see a sunrise, or watch the morning news, or take your dog for a walk. you know what you're into, so go with that. start a routine and stick with it, pretty soon, you'll begin to look forward to it, and think of that in the morning, instead of your pain.
5.pray. thank god for all the good things you have in your life. you'll be reminded of your blessings and all your reasons to get up and start the day.
Hang in there, I know it sucks, but it will get better! Good luck!
