Do you think this is a brown recluse spider bite?
I just brought a box up from the basement and noticed a little stinging on my right right finger. I set the box down and looked at my ring finger. There is a slight "bruising"....not really a bruise just greyish tint to the skin and a little swelling on the spot.
It doesn't really hurt, just a tiny bit sore and a little swollen. I was in the basement less than a minute. I know that we have ALOT of brown recluses in this area so I'm a little concerned.
I'm not allergic to spiders and spider bites in the past have never caused much of a reaction. But I've never been bitten by a recluse before. Has anyone noticed their bite right away... what did it look like?
Should I be worried?

I know that with recluse bites, the bite itself doesn't usually look like much more than a bruise the first day or so.
Ive never been bitten by one, but Ive known several people that have and almost all of them had flu like symptoms a few hours after the bite. It you start to get feverish, achy, or nauseated, I would go to an ER or doctor asap. If not, I would wait til morning and see how it is and decide then whether to go directly to a doctor or not. At the very least I would call your doctor in the morning and ask. but thats if it doesnt swell and you dont get any other symptoms.
