The rule of thumb is that anything from 3 times a week to 3 times a day is supposed to be normal.

i think as a rule its supposed to be done every year, but i usually buy two year plate tags so i don't have to do the emmisions, but i think everytime you go to get your tag renewed if your prevoius emmisions is still valid i.e out of 12 months 2 are left and you got to get a renewal for two year you basically won't have to do emmision till the next renewal.

so lets say you bought your car in 2006 Aug had the tags till jan 2008 2 year tags, and you did your emmission Aug 2006. then in 2008 you got the renewal anyway because your emissions was still valid till Aug. as you said the emmisions would last the 2 year, but i have always had emission covered only for 1 year, so im guessing you got lucky or have a newer car or that the government allows maximum 2 years stretch for emmisons to be done, and your timing was just perfect to get 3 years out.lol

There's a reason it's called being "regular". It should be a regular thing. At least daily. Fiber, water, and exercise will help ensure this regularity.
