Do you think my Grade 2 Sprain is already healed?!

Question: Do you think my Grade 2 Sprain is already healed?
I sprained my ankle 5 days ago. It hurt so bad that I couldn't walk and I had to stay in my room for a day. It was swelling and the bruise was dark purple and I was using a bandage.

The next day, though, I rolled a bottle underneath it, like my mom said, to massage it, then I was able to walk slowly, but it hurts sometimes too if I took a wrong step. It's not swelling too much like before, and the bruise isn't that dark anymore.

Then, the next day, I decided to go to school because we have an exam. I was able to walk, but it's still slow. I can't go up the stairs properly too. It was hit at least 3 times, but I didn't notice if it swelled more or anything. Maybe because it wasn't hit that hard. More like accidentally. It was also twisted at the bruise's direction at least 2 times, but the pain subsided.

Then just yesterday, it was twisted a bit too and was hit softly. It wasn't swelling anymore, there was just a light purple bruise on it.

So I was just wondering if I can swim on Monday for my P. E. Exam. Will it be painful? What do I have to do to prepare? What should I bring along with me just in case it'll hurt? I

Answers:

That sprain you had also involved the soft tissue, hence the bleeding/bruises. This typically would heal in about 7-8 days and should always be supported with an "Ace" type bandage. You have another week before you should be acting as though it's healed. No P.E exam, that could make things more complicated.... I'd say, no exercise, or extra walking, until you notice that there's nothing hurting any more.
