Huge Burned Scars on Arm?!

Question: Huge Burned Scars on Arm?
Hello all,

I'm having a little trouble that has been bothering me. You see, I'm going to the beach soon, and I would like to wear a bikini. My huge problem is, I have a huge burned scar all over my arm. I got burned by hot oil a few years ago. I had it treated with Skin Grafting since it was a must.

The nature of my scar is this- burn scar from lower arm to upper arm (basically 90 percent of my arm) and did skin grafting. On top of that, I developed Keloid and the scar is raised! (some on the burned area and most is around it) and the area where I did skin grafting, the whole colour of that skin is becomes a lot darker then my original skin colour so If I wear any sheer outfit, it pretty much visible!

I love to swim and I really wanted to head out to the beach. But what can I do about my scar? How can I hide it?

If I want to cover it with long sleeve cardigan or jacket, first of.... I'm going to the beach (So I have every intention of getting wet). Second, It is in the summer (So it's very very hot!). Cover it with a foundation? I'm going to need more than a few huge bottle of it just to cover it up and on daily basis... that is going to cost me a lot of money.

Not only do I have fashion problem during the summer, but because of the scar, My self-esteem is getting low. Very low. Yes, I TRY to tell myself "I'm Beautiful"... But one glimps or feels of the scar makes me being reminded of it's presence. So I was depressed all over again. So this option doesn't seems to work.

Laser? Surgery? Injection? Doctor says there is the possibility that it WILL be worst.

So what can I do about my scar? And how can I cover it when I'm on the beach or pool? Is there any way for me to remove this scar without it coming back?

Honey! First of all I bet you have a pretty face and a lovely smile. No one is interested in your scar on your arm... Honestly, all people are concerned about at the beach is if they are going to get burned! I know it's easy for me to say. Right. Just Thursday, I had to have a piece of my nose removed (yes you cannot help but notice). I am an attractive woman and was worried at first, but, even with all the stitches still in & dried blood, I'm going out tonight and getting all dressed up!
You could just put some derma-blend makeup on your arm and enjoy the sand and the sea. I bet you'll have a better time than me, since Chicago area is covered in snow again!!

Personal experience, recently.

theres this dermablend makeup , this stuff is thick and you put it on with a spatula , try that , i think its waterproof too .

are you using scar cream too like that mederma , get some from the drugstore

Just think of it like this. Imagine its one of your friends that has the scar, would you judge them harshly for something they have very little control of. Or would you accept them for the kind of person they are. If people around you give you crap for this you shouldn't be around them anyway. I don't know anything about skin grafting, maybe you could get a nice Tattoo to cover it up(if that would be something your ok with). Don't hurt yourself mentally, because of something that happened to you physically.
