Skin around fresh cut is white, but....?!

Question: Skin around fresh cut is white, but....?

Everywhere I look, people are saying it's because of a band-aid or bandage covering (which I have not worn, not even once since I was cut 2 days ago), OR they're saying that it's dead skin. This is not dead skin. I was bitten VERY hard, and one of the cuts' white skin almost looks & feels like a blood blister. The other two small cuts have formed white around the cuts. Neither is infected. What could be causing this? (PLEASE... educated answers only)

Answers:

If it is swollen and red with white it could be infected. The white could be pus. You should get it checked.
