How do you stop chest pain from costochondritis?!

Question: How do you stop chest pain from costochondritis?
About 6 months ago I was working out for the first time in a long time. I way overdid it. I was doing pull ups, chin raises and dips. I know my form on the dips was poor. I kept going and going and going without warming up or cooling down. The following week I hurt so bad.
The PA's and MD's told me that it was likely to be costochondritis. I firmly accept this diagnosis. For the first couple of months there was a lot of discomfort not just in the center of my chest, but also the left side wrapping around my side and kind of under the arm pit. Sometimes the right side mimicked the left, but rarely. For the past two months it seems that the symptoms have mostly disappeared.... until a few days ago. Yesterday it seemed to come back with a vengeance, it almost seems like it just started again. I even had a bit of a tingling chest and nipple sensitivity ( I am a male). Today it is still pretty bothersome.
I have had a cold for just over a week and have been blowing my nose quite bit, but not as much the past few days. When I had a cold a month or so ago I was blowing my nose with no recurring pain.

Could the pain be a symptom of blowing my nose?
What are the best resources related to costochondritis?

Any good tips to relieve or overcome the symptoms?

Thanks for your help.

There is no cure, but costochondritis usually goes away on its own and is short-lived, although in some cases it may last for several months or longer.

To ease your pain until it fades, your doctor may recommend:

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others) and naproxen (Aleve)
Antidepressants, specifically a category of medicines called tricyclic antidepressants, if pain is making it difficult to sleep at night
Muscle relaxants, which can also help ease pain

It's most likely you were also sneezing. Sneezing is a very violent event. You can break a rib, dislocate joints and have many other muscle problems.

This sounds like it was initially caused by overdoing it at the gym, which will get you every time! Have you had some deep tissue massage to the chest muscles?

Sounds like tight muscles in your back from the overdoing it and they can release by themselves but the coughing would bring them back with the vengeance that they did for you. To get rid of the pain you have to free up your back muscles and here's how to do that:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
