Vicodin and Percocet?!

Question:

Vicodin and Percocet?

What's the difference in the 2? I had vicodin es 7.5/750 and my doc prescribed me percocet 7.5/325......is their a difference? Is one stronger than the other or have a different effect?

Answers:

The difference is Vicodin is actually Hydrocodone and percocet is actually Oxycodone so the difference is the chemical make up and they way they interact with the body plus their strength. If the dosage is exactly the same the Oxycodone is stronger because of the way it works.
Of course in this case the breakdown is 7.5mg of Vicodin and 750 mg of acetaminophen versus 7.5mg of Oxycodone and 325mg of acetaminophen. The percocet is less diluted or more pure. They are both known to cause nausea, but the percocet seem to cause it in more people. The both give you about the same effect, but the Oxycodone last longer.
