What should I do?!

Question:

What should I do?

Hey everyone! So I am currently 10 weeks pregnant and for the past 2 days I’ve been having a REAL hard time catching a deep breath. I heard this can happen to you later on in your pregnancy, but this early? Before I got pregnant, only occasionally did I have a hard time catching a deep breath, but NOTHING to bring a concern. Last night it was so bad that I started crying. Today, I’m just getting real nervous. My hubby and I don’t have insurance, so to go to the doctors would cost a bit of a penny. Should I call my OB and ask him about this or should I go see a diff kind of doc? I have NO clue what to do. Please only serious answers. Thanks ahead of time.

Answers:

Ok so im' not a dr. and i would at least call him/her, but in my opinion here is what's going on. The thing about haveing a hard time catching your breath is like normal. when you yawn, cathc your breath you have an excess of co2 in your lungs. you take a deep breath not to get more o2, but to expell the excess co2. So when you get pregnant you produce more co2(waste) becuse you have to bodies that you are working for. so naturally you will feel like you need to catch your breath more often. the problem is that the baby doesn't allow for large cest expansion. When you breath your chest expands and your diaphram lowers. With the baby your diaphram can't lower as much, not allowing you to take a deep of a breath. if you feel like this try lying back for a few min allowing the position of the baby to slightly shift to allow for better expansion of the chest cavity.
if nothing seems to help though, at least call the ob, maybe they can suggest something different. remember you and your baby have no price tag, take care of the two of you and deal with the consequences later.
