can i take another pain killer with mefenamic acid tablets?!


Question: Can i take another pain killer with mefenamic acid tablets?
I have been perscribed mefenamic acid tablets for severe period pains but after taking tablet I am still in severe pain

You cannot take any other anti inflammatory drugs, (such as aspirin, ibuprofen or diclofenac,) but you can add paracetamol. (Avoid codeine at all costs as it is a poor analgesic and quite addictive.)

You can't take any other NSAID's (anti-inflammatories) so no ibuprofen/aspirin/naproxen etc, but you can take paracetamol and other painkillers in different classes like codeine derivatives with it safely. I would advise you to go back to the doctor as you're having such bad pains, they may prescribe you something different.
