When I was your age I had problems with my stomach. Some foods made me very sick. I had pain, pain, pain. By the time I was 18 I had an ulcer in my duodenum ( the upper portion of the small intestine). Pain continued over the years. I am now 56. About 7 years ago, it got to the point where I could no longer eat or drink anything, Everything made me throw up. I went to a special doctor called a gastroenterologist (one who takes care of the stomach, esophagus, large/small intestines and bowels). It was there that I found out I have "celiac disease." It is a disease of the small intestine. Gluten, found in wheat, rye and barley-malt, attacks the celia (hair-like protusions) and destroys them in the small intestine. Nutrients go through the celia into the blood stream to keep our bodies nourished. When the celia is destroyed, the nutrients have no where to go. So, the body becomes malnourished no matter how much the person might eat. Gluten can cause ulcers as well in a person with celiac disease. Another symptom I had was anemia, low iron blood count. I also had lots of gas in my stomach (very painful -just ask any baby!), heartburn (gas from the stomach that comes up into the throat), and nauseousness.

Besides celiac disease, I found out that I have a hiatel hernia (where the stomach juts up into the diaphragm), acid reflux (where the gas from the stomach goes up the esophagus into the throat causing burning), gastroperesis ( where the stomach empties very, very, very, very, slowly causing bloating and inability to keep much food in the stomach) and irritable bowel syndrome (that causes pain on the left side after eating and sometimes when not eating).

So, you see, there are many reasons why someone's stomach can hurt and a person be unable to eat. Go back to your doctor, ask for a referral to see a gastroenterologist. This new doctor can order a blood test for celiac disease as well as test you for any of the other problems I have mentioned. Above all, remember your symptoms are very real. Don't listen to anyone who says otherwise!

If you have celiac disease you will need to be on a gluten-free diet that a nutrionist can help you with. Usually, the gastoenterologist recommends someone. I hope you find this helpful to you, and that you find out soon what's wrong with your stomach! It's worth finding out in order to feel better! There is no cure for celiac disease.

There could be many different reasons for this. For example, it could be your appendix, something you've eaten, etc. But I think it's to do with menstruation. If you've started you're period then it's period pains (you can get this even when your not bleeding). If you haven't, you might start soon. Either way, talk to your mum/mom, better to be safe than sorry! ;-)

Period?

You should go to a doctor, this might be the only option to cure it.

Tell your mummy, child.
