My bottom rib moves in and out?!

Question: My bottom rib moves in and out?
It moves by like an inch, its pretty painful when it moves (of its own accord) and when fully out I can feel the tip of the rib right under the skin, it feels sharp enough to poke through! Eww.

Is it normal for the bottom ones to move like that? I just have it on one side, I play clarinet maybe it's from all the deep breathing?

Sounds like a broken rib, you should get it checked quick. Broken ribs can be lethal.
When it hurts when you move or breath in, it's usually broken or bruised pretty badly. But since you say you can feel it poking through, it's definitely a broken rib.

I would go to an emergency room right away, or visit my doctor real quick.

very normal. they are called the floating ribs. they are only attatched to the rib cage on one side. everyone has them
