Dr. Scholl's Gel Inserts Causing Foot Discomfort?!

Question:

Dr. Scholl's Gel Inserts Causing Foot Discomfort?

The directions that came with the Dr. Scholl's gel inserts did not mention whether to remove the original shoe inserts or not. I removed the original insert and put in the Dr. Scholl's. At the end of the first day of wearing them, I felt pain in my right foot as a I walked. The inside curve on my right foot (between the ball and the heel) was severely inflammed and sensitive to the touch. I was only having minor foot issues (tired feet after much walking) before trying the Dr. Scholl's; just saw the ads and wanted to give them a try.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Answers:

When i developed foot pain I turned to gel inserts for relief. I later learned that I had plantar fascieitis and that the treatment is to get thin hard ridgid inserts. After several months of wearing the hard inserts my problem resolved. The ones I used are Sof-Sole inserts from a sporting goods store but a podiatrist can make custom inserts for you that cost hundreds of dollars more.
