While writing alot how long does it take before your hand starts to hurt and how!

While writing alot how long does it take before your hand starts to hurt and how do you deal with it?

Ah, at my high school they had a fun little thing called a clinic. Clinics were detention type punishments for talking in class, having an un-tucked shirt, wearing socks against the school regulation, and other simple rule-breaking things. You would stay after school and write straight for 3 1/2 hours. If you took a break, they would kick you out and you would get a suspension, a work day (a joyous time when you spend your entire Saturday cleaning up the disgusting mess from the football game the night before), and a second clinic. Even bathroom breaks weren't permitted. Talking got you the same punishment. Generally, you would have to copy some huge packet about being saved. Of course everyone in clinic is a complete heathen b/c they didn't tuck in their shirt, so might as well kill two birds with one stone! By the time it ended, my hand was really sore and would stiffen in the worst way. It's quite a miserable thing. I never really figured out a way to deal with it. I just had to suck it up. It would have been helpful, though. Clinics were pretty common for me, considering that I was quite the social butterfly. :)
