It depends on the type of fracture and your age.
I broke my foot when I was 13 (5th metatarsus) and I had to wear a cast for 4 weeks. And it took another 4 week to get back to normal after the cast came off.

There's no real answer to this question. You wear it as long as your doctor tells you it's necessary for you to wear it. There are many bones in the foot, and several different types of fractures. Only your doctor can tell you what is best for you.
