Pain in back of knee?!

Question: Pain in back of knee?
More specifically the tendons on the back of my right knee. Its been like this for 2 1/2 weeks now ever since I ran my first 2 mile run in PE. On my last lap, the back of my need started to really hurt out of no where- I didn't land on my leg wrong or anything. Ive never had a history of a leg pain in my life.

So I rested for 2 weeks and it hurts if I do a sudden movement or continuous running motion. It feels like a sprained tendon but it doesn't hurt if I walk or do non physically demanding tasks. This causes me to sometimes think its over, and when I start running and get to half a lap- it starts hurting again out of the blue. After the pain flare up, If I do a touch toes stretch- then the back of knee hurts. but if I do a calf stretch, then there is no pain so I think its the hamstrings.

What could this be? its only for the back of my right leg, no where else. Im 16 and Im thinking about going to the doctor. My PE physical fitness test is starting this week and Ill have to run a mile. I can do that fine, but not with this leg pain. I have a note from my dad but she says I still have to run it anyway- or fail the test... maybe if I have a doctors note- I will be able to take the test another time.

P.S, don't just say tough it out. It hurts ALOT, like running with a sprained knee that gets more painful with every stride.

Pain in the back of the knee can be due to the formation of a cyst, called a Baker's Cyst, in the back of the knee joint. Also common is for kneecap pain to be felt in the back of the knee.
