Question: First night with stitches in face and can't leave them alone? Is this bad?
My boyfriend was in a fight and had to get stitches. He has some by his eyebrow, cheek and lip. The numbed the area and he can't seem to leave them alone. He's rubbing them and pressing on them since the area's still numb. The doctor said not to mess with them too much,is he over doing it? What could happen if he continues messing with them?
I personally think it's a bad idea to touch them at all but since he doesn't feel the pain,he can't keep his hand's off of them.

Yeah he's going to get the area infected, there are millions of germs on your hands and when you touch an open wound even with stitches germs get in. Also it causes irritation and it's going to hurt worse after the lidocaine wears off.
He could bust the stitches-terrible scar
Infect the area- scarring,illness , death
Pull the stitches-scarring,
Well if his hands are dirty the wound could get infected or the stitches could reopen but thats not likely.
