Effects of sucking.tasting your own blood coz of wound?

i've accidentally wounded myself when i pulled my chipped off nail on my one of my fingers. It bleed alot and i don't have any cotton or cloth to wipe it..what i did was i sucked it just what im seeing in films.my question is, is it safe to suck your own blood or by tasting it? Will it not harm you?

Well I wouldnt advise you to swallow your blood if you suck it - rather spit it out. Blood carries a lot of impurities through your body as part of the cleansing process. Since it is impure in nature - I wouldnt adivise is sucking and swallowing. For this reason some religions also teach that it is preferable not to swallow blood (nose bleeds generally an exception).
