I had a migraine on Wednesday, but I had different symptoms. My mum says they're just changing but Ive never had one like this. Normaly I get bad vision, then I get a headache and be sick. But this time I went really dizzy, and then I got bad vision. And then a headache. I never get dizzy though. And also my left hand went numb and the left side of my lip went numb too. I also think i have some memory loss, I cant really remember anything that happened last weekend, for some reason. And I dont know if im just stressing myself into beleiving this but i cant remember much about yesterday or friday. Help?

Never do any exercises suggested on this site. That is because it can be dangerous for you. You always need a diagram or picture of a exercise before you do them. This will prevent you getting an injury or experiencing additional pain. The symptoms that you are describing are more than a normal migraine headache. You need to see your doctor as soon as possible. Are you taking medication for your migraines? When you go to the doctor make sure that you are able to talk to the doctor before your mother steps in. You need to tell him how you feel and what happens to you when you get these new headaches. Please relay this message to your mother.

I agree on what some people say here. This definitely isn't a normal migraine. Normal migraines just show that you have sensitivity to light and your head pounds. What ultimately causes migraines is inter-cranial pressure in the head. However this is quite severe. I highly suggest seeing a doctor as soon as possible and take everything easy. Try not to strain yourself. You may need a PET or CAT scan for your head.

Until then, lots of rest and take it easy. Take an Advil or a Tylenol or something to suppress the pain if you have any.

Hope it helps:)!

By definition it was normal, but it wasn't for you. Migraines are caused by tight neck muscles. They go to the top of your head where they connect to muscles that go around your head. When the neck muscles are tight they pull on the muscles going around your head. When they go into pain you have your migraine. The nerves for your eyes go to the back of your head, passing right next to the neck muscles. When the neck muscles are tight they can press into the nerves for the eyes to cause pains on the back of your eyes where the nerve is attached. More pressure causes the pupils to dilate to mess up your vision and makes others sensitive to light. Tight neck muscles also restrict what goes in and out of your head, including the blood. When there is a reduced blood flow to the brain you will also end up with a lowered oxygen level there. You will know when the oxygen level has dropped when you feel very tired. If the level drops more you will get dizzy, light headed. And more you will pass out. To get rid of these problems so they won't come back you have to free up your neck muscles and here's how to do that:
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. When your fingers and thumb touch, about two minutes, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds.
With your neck in the lowered position, replace your thumbs in under the ears and your fingers behind your head but right next to your skull this time. Press your fingers and thumbs together again and hold. Relax your body while waiting. When the muscles have all released, slowly lift your head until it’s level again, release the pressure but hold your head like that for another 30 seconds.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
