Question: So the arthritis in my hands is easy to see. What about other places...how is that diagnosed?
And when is it decided to do surger)? My thumbs are especially quite painful. Recently my foot/ankle seems to not want to take a normal stride when walking which makes me limp. When is enough enoughj?!?

Answers:

If you asked me, I say now is enough. Arthritis is a degenerative disease, how long can you stand pain and discomfort before you seek for treatment? Diagnosis can be confirmed by taking a bone scan, MRI or X-ray. Bone Densitometry can also be done to see how far the bone had degenerate. Your uric acid level would probably be tested as well.

I'm not sure how far advance the joints surgeries had become but most I've heard was Knee, Vertebrae, Shoulder and Hips replacement. As for smaller joints like ankles or fingers.. I've heard of it but not sure if it still in a research level.
