How long does it take to detox off of oxycontin 20 mg twice a day and 3 / 5mg breakthru pain pills a day,,,???

I want to get off it all together to see if i can live without the pills,,,,Thanks

i understand that you want to get off your pills but there is no way to quite cold turkey you will still go through the same with drawl symptoms that a heroin addict would go through...chills, hot flashes, nausea, vomiting, and numbing of your tongue toes and hands...so the best advise I can give you is to slowly come off the Oxycontin 20mg by going down to one in the morning for about a week then go down to no Oxycontin for another week but keep taking the breakthrough pain medication as normal...once you are off the Oxycontin completely then start weening yourself off the percocet..go down to 2 for like 2 weeks then 1 for 3 weeks and then none...if you start to have with drawl problems and your pain is getting worse talk to your doctor about being on methadone it works as a pain reliever and isn't habit forming i was on that for awhile but it caused nausea and vomiting so i had to come off of it...good luck and god bless i wish i could come completely off all my pain medication but my pain on a normal day is still about a 5-6 with my pain meds....if you have any other questions let me know cause i know exactly what you are going through...wish you the best....
