How painful is a stress fracture?!
Question: How painful is a stress fracture?
On a scale of 1-10, 1 being a catscratch and 10 being a completely torn ACL, how painful is a stress fracture?

From my experience they're not really all that painful, certainly not as bad as actually breaking the bone. It tends to be a gradual build up of pain, and most people only go and see a doctor about it after living with it for a few days (not as easy to detect as other fractures), so it seems to hurt less...
For me, it felt more like a bad bruise on my arm, but just a bit longer lasting. I guess that I'd rate it at about 3 or 4, with a normal fully broken bone at a 7 or so.
