How long would it take for a gunshot victim to recover?!
Question: How long would it take for a gunshot victim to recover?
My friend and I are writing a story, and at one point in the story the female lead character gets shot by airship pirates. She is shot through her shoulder and shatters the bone (yes, the bullet goes all the way through) and she ends up losing a lot of blood as they're a long way away from a hospital. Does anyone know how long it would take for a victim to survive this kind of wound and what steps would be necessary for her to recover? I can post additional details as necessary.
Answers:
It would depend on the severity of the shot. No matter what, the shoulder is the best place to be shot because there is nothing sensitive there that would be of great cause for alarm. if the bullet is shattering the bone then the recovery time will be 2 months at least. But it's a story. Bend the rules as you see fit.
