Why is there so much ground in chewig Gum on the pavement?!

Why is there so much ground in chewig Gum on the pavement?
Seriously., its disgusting. Esspially when you drop your keys or wallet on the pavement and you think ewwwwwww its been in the gum! Then you put your keys in your pocket and its like ewwwwwwww its touched all my stuff! Or is this a bit of a silly thing to worry about?

no it is not.....that is why you should really keep hand sanitizer close by.....you could catch something that way.......I keep a bottle very close by all the time.........
