Why do i hear throbbing in my ear?!

Question: Why do i hear throbbing in my ear?
For a few years now in my right ear I hear this throbbing or pulse when I lay on my right side. I used to sleep on my right side but due to the throbbing I've had to settle for the left. Ive tried everything II could think of. Proxcoed, alcohol, ear drops. And even sticking a qtip as for as it can go with hitting my ear drum. So idk anymore its getting on my nerves. Can anyone help or relate.??

It is most likely a vein: you are probably just hearing your own heart beat.
