How do you correct a sleep cycle/pattern?!

Question: How do you correct a sleep cycle/pattern?
I have gotten into a really bad habit of staying up late, until its been 4 am almost sunrise before I go to sleep, to only get up a few hours later, then I nap during the day, and the cycle starts again that night. My question is, should I stay up all day, and go to bed early and to try to get back into a normal sleep cycle of sleeping thru the night?

Answers:

Easy, just stay up all night, and go to sleep early then next night at like 10pm. You'll wake up at 7am or so and you'll be back to normal. I do this on a regular basis as my shift for work changes a lot.

stay up till 4 as usual. Then wake up at like 8-9am. Don't sleep at all during that day and incorporate a decent workout(to wear you out). You should feel tired by like 9 or 10. Go to sleep and sleep until you are rested(which around 8-9 hours should be waking up around 6-7 am). Since you woke up early, by the time the next night rolls around you should be tired at bedtime 10-11, and be able to go to sleep. You will have re established a normal sleep schedule.

Also on a side note, continuing to get a workout during your day will help ensure you are tired at night, plus it's just good for you anyways

Miss out on the nanna naps and exercise does help. If not find something constructive to do. Are you just veging and watching TV or are you using your time effectively by learning a new skill. If you are vegging out on the lounge it is basically the same as sleeping

The way that works all the time is get up on time and combine this with exercise. Especially outside exercise in the morning.

Going to bet sooner is not as effective.
