I have a sharp pulsating pain n my upper right side of my right thigh lasting !

Question:

I have a sharp pulsating pain n my upper right side of my right thigh lasting 4 sec?

After the sharp pain is over its like it never happened, not sore or tender. It happens at different times. Not when I am moving, usually when I am either sitting or laying. It used to only happen in that one spot on my thigh but now sometimes I get the same pain in my arm or finger of foot even.. But its very very painful, I grab the spot and rub out of reflex to the pain, it never lasts over 6 secs. Any one know what this is? Thanks :)

I have this very same thing! It freaked me out at first, I thought it was a blood clot or something like that. I talked to a physician friend of mine and he said that it is probably a nerve or muscle twinge and that you notice it more while sitting and relaxing. Mine stays in the same place on the front/outer thigh. Hurts like heck for a second or two and then it passes. It's not a muscle spasm or anything that a massage will help. Further more I have massages regularly and I still have it. It's not the sciatic nerve since it runs from your buttocks down the back of your leg.
If it really bothers you talk to your physician and maybe he can refer you to a neurologist. They deal with nerve and things like that. Also you may want to have an ultrasound done to ensure that it is not a clot although it probably is not.

So basically it is a nerve in your thigh that gets pissed off for no reason and annoys you and me when we least expect it.
