shin splint help please!?!


Question: Shin splint help please!?
i run almost everyday and every single time i get unbearable shin splints. but resting 5-10 min after the run the pain goes away. why? i have read articles on treatment of shin splint and they all say rest but i dun have the luxury of resting as i have a running competition in 2 months. my shoes are comfortable and i dun think they are the problem. is there a method to kill the pain so i can run without further damaging my muscles?

Answers:

You should stretch the muscles before and after running, use ice and massage.
If you have a trainer they can tape the shins to help the pain.
You can also do swimming or biking, but if it gets too bad it can cause a stress fracture, which means you are not running for a few months.
