What are some good remedies for chronic migraines?!

Question: What are some good remedies for chronic migraines?
I get over two weeks of migraines a month. I have tried different vitamins, medications, going to the chiropractor, neurologist, ect? I am so sick of being medicated all the time and feeling like sleeping half of my life...

You said you have tried medications, but not which ones specifically.
Have you ever tried "triptans"? (sumatriptan, zolmitriptan, "Imitran", "Imitrex", Imitran injectable)

All of the triptans can be extremely effective for migraine headache, which I have never found that they make me feel sleepy or "drugged" in any way. They are not narcotics, not addictive, and not even controlled substances. The only downside is that they are VERY VERY expensive. But if you have not tried them, it is worth a shot. The sumatriptan injectable has been a life-saver for me on some occasions -- it has the power to kill the most intense migraine headache within seconds in the injection. (They come in "user-frieldly" kits like epi-pens, very easy to administer to ones self).

There is also ergot-amine, which is non-narcotic, non-addictive, and can work very well. It is a potent vaso-constrictor, which shrinks the blood vessels in your brain.

Those are the ones that shouldn't make you feel sleepy or drugged, or worried about addiction. While of course narcotics like oxycodone and morphine would help the pain, it does not sound like you want to go there.

Your migraines are caused by tight neck muscles. They go to the top of your head where they connect to muscles that go around your head. When the neck muscles get tight they pull on the muscles going around your head. When they go into pain you have your migraine. To get rid of the migraine you have to free up your neck muscles as well as your back muscles. Do the ones for your neck at least 3 times and the one for your back once and you should be able to get rid of the pains. Here's how to free them up:
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. When your fingers and thumb touch, about two minutes, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds.
With your neck in the lowered position, replace your thumbs in under the ears and your fingers behind your head but right next to your skull this time. Press your fingers and thumbs together again and hold. Relax your body while waiting. When the muscles have all released, slowly lift your head until it’s level again, release the pressure but hold your head like that for another 30 seconds.
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side. For both- for best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

Try staying away from caffeine, don't watch too much tv and stare at computer screens, try sleeping with your neck supported properly, don't smoke. See your MD and good luck. There are different kinds of migraines so see your MD.
