Does donating blood feel the same as getting a blood test??!
Question:
Does donating blood feel the same as getting a blood test??
do they take the same amount of blood?
Answers:
Donating blood feels about the same as far as the initial "stick." When blood is taken for tests, only a few cc's are taken; when you donate blood, a pint is taken. A normal adult has about 5 quarts of blood in his/her body, so a pint is only about 10% of your blood volume. You may feel a bit light-headed after donating; it's important to drink plenty of orange juice and eat afterward. Most blood banks keep plenty of orange juice and peanut butter and crackers around for donors.
