Humeral (shoulder) head fracture -- anyone, anyone???!

Question:

Humeral (shoulder) head fracture -- anyone, anyone???

I recently fractured the ball at the end of the shoulder bone -- anyone else go through this? i've been to the doc & am following his rules. just trying to get more information. i'm in a sling & am not to lift with my right arm (yeah i'm a righty too) but can still type. i'm not trying to mess with his directions but was wondering if anyone has been through this. i try to move the arm side to side as it doesn't hurt and he said if it didn't hurt - it's okay to do but stressed no lifting (i get that ; )

i hear the therapy is rather challenging. i'm trying hard not to take any pain meds until the therapy begins - i build up immunities to things rather quickly so....

so does anyone have any practical advice they can offer?
Your assistance is truly appreciated!

Answers:

When you start Physical Therapy it is extremely important to show up for your regualr visits and to do the exercises at home that the PT gives you. With this your rehab will go much better. It will be painful, no doubt, but the best way to get back your function is to put max effort into your PT.
