Can using nasal sprays cause muscle aches?!

Question:

Can using nasal sprays cause muscle aches?

SInce I have been using OTC nasal spay for sinus and congestion, I also notice I have some sore muscles and pain in my side and lower back area. Does anyone know if they could be related? Thanks.

Answers:

I've never heard of muscle aches caused by nasal spray, but it is an "unnatural" drug, which means it will cause side effects.

The most dangerous side effect to using nasal spray is addiction. Not like a nicotine addiction or drug addiction, but what happens is you will continue to have a stuffy nose, which will cause you to keep using the nasal spray, which will cause your mucus membranes to mass produce mucus so that you will keep using the nasal spray. It will eventually eat away the lining of your mucus membranes and you'll start getting nosebleeds or worse.

When I have to use a nasal spray, I will generally use it at night so I can sleep well, and just take an decongestant during the day. My father, on the other hand, has been using nasal spray four or five times a day for about 20 years now because why? His nose is "always stuffy."
