Question: Could sex have caused my hernia?
I have an inguinal hernia that swells and reduces. It causes pain, sometimes a burning sensation. Sometimes the discomfort spreads to my upper thigh and one one occasion my scrotum. I have an appointment in a month.
Could this have been caused by daily sex with my wife, sometimes her on top, though shes not overweight. I'm not either, aged 47.

Any exertion by your abdominal muscles can cause or exacerbate a hernia. I would wait until I was given the greenlight from my doctor before I engaged in sex or any physical exertion again.
Your hernia can get to the point where it is beyond repair. You don't want that.
