What's this Clicking in my jaw?!

Question: What's this Clicking in my jaw?
It started in October 2010, when I'd had braces for just over 3 years, and my jaw started clicking every so often. I have now recently had my braces taken off, and the clicking seems to cause pain. Could this be due to the realignment of my teeth due to the braces, as my friend has the same thing and seems to think it is due to this. What is it, and how could I make it better, as I can't eat any chewy foods properly, which I used to enjoy :/

Sorry... I was going to suggest you speak to your dentist.

Hope you get relief soon.

I too had braces when I was 13 got them off at 15 had a clicky jaw and so forth. It even got to the point in where my jaw would suddenly lock up for a day or two and Id be crying in pain. I was told it is the foods we eat and the how wide you open your mouth... idk Im now 20 and I havent experienced this since. Should go away with time.

Sounds like TMJ. Look on WebMD and check the symptoms there.

You have lockjaw!!
