Had chest pain, went to doc, said growing pains, now I have back pain too, I thi!

Question: Had chest pain, went to doc, said growing pains, now I have back pain too, I think he might be wrong?
I had pain when exercising (I have a goal to meet for a program I'm in, and I tried to run a mile and 1/2, got a time of 22 minutes :(( it was cold, a little icy and hilly, but I had to walk part of the time due to the pain, made me mad), I went to the doctor a few months ago -I've had this since Sept. of last year- and he poked and pressed and asked if it hurt, and said I had an inflamed ribcage from growing pains. He prescribed a pain killer/anti-inflammatory, but I didn't use it much because it only hurt during and after exercise, and I don't like taking pain killers. Now it's February, and I just haven't been exercising much because of it, and now my back hurts pretty bad too. It's not lower back, so I don't think it's because I need water. I've been drinking a lot of water lately, anyway. So now I'm worried. It's been about 6 months now. What should I do?

Check back in with your doctor, tell him/her that this continues. You don't mention anything about asthma or exercise induced asthma, that might be something to look into also. Its most likely nothing cardiac, but get in touch with your pcp. Good luck!
