Question: KNEE SURGERY on lateral meniscus, track is soon and i need to know some information.. help please!?
I had knee surgery 3 weeks ago on my lateral meniscus, it was a small tear and the doctor said they cleaned it right up. I am a senior and I have track coming up in 3-4 weeks and this is supposed to be my year to make it to state. How long of a recovery is there? ive heard everything from 2 weeks to 8 months!!! I NEED AN ANSWER!!!

Depends.
I had both of my menisci tear (it was a *****, believe me). The first time I had surgery (my left leg) I was out of PE for about three months. But I was 8 at the time. The second time (I was 14, and my right leg) the recovery was about a month. You just have to take it slow after a few weeks and work your way back.
it is not 8 months. 8 months is if you tore your acl. if you are in physical therapy you should be fine for the season. i recovered completely after 4 weeks.
