How do you know your have a dislocated hip? If you truly think your hip is dislocated you need to go to the Emergency Room. They will x-ray your hip and determine if you have an injury such as a break or dislocation. If you do have an injury they will call in an orthopedic surgeon who will examine your x-rays, possible order an MRI and then the surgeon will do what he thinks is appropriate. If you have a dislocated hip they will not send you home and tell you to call a doctor. Some symptoms of a dislocated hip are, the affected leg will be shorter than the other leg and the foot will be rotated outward. Your leg will be painful to touch and you will be unable to bear any weight on the leg. You will also have swelling in the knee down to the ankle. This is a serious injury as there is a great deal of blood supply in this area and if it is broken you can bleed internally. If you have these symptoms and have had an injury or felt a pop in the hip and then fell down without being able to get back up you need to call an ambulance and go to the Emergency Room.

no they will not they will tell you to go to an orthopedic surgeon and set up a surgery. they will only do it if it is an absolute necassary like if there is no blood flow and you will loose your leg unless they operate then so no they wont.

If your hip was broken and you where to go to the ER then yes they would admit you and schedule the surgery but for a dislocation no they will just refer you out to an orthopedic doc
