Question: Will nail polish remover harm you?

I had just finished getting the nail polish off my nails with the remover. I forgot about it and had to take an allergy pill and I could taste the nail polish remover from my fingers. The next day (today) my throat has been hurting and under my rib cage has felt sore. I am wondering if this is from the nail polish remover and if it is serious. It was only just a little bit form my finger. and btw I am 12.
