Why is my leg swollen after being bitten by a mosquito?!

Question: Why is my leg swollen after being bitten by a mosquito?
So a mosquito bit the side of my calf (leg) and it is swelling up. It is very itchy and I scratch around the bite. The area is hard but I don't want to push it because it would hurt my foot. When I walk, I limp a bit because it hurts to stretch my leg out as in put my heel all the way down to touch the floor. It feels as if the bump would explode if I stretch or walk normally. The bite has expanded to about a size bigger than a golf ball (lengthwise) and pops out like the size that seems abnormal for the leg. It's not just a simple bump, It's a 3-4 inch bump that is hard and hurts. What is my problem? I get this everytime I get bit on the calf. If I get bit anywhere else, it swells up but not as severe. Also, I know it was a mosquito because I killed one when it was on me and squeezed it and blood came out of it; I'm assuming it is my blood. hopefully ): What's my problem?

The same thing hapenes to me. Usually and it swells up and gets red and is usually warm. If you go to the doctor he will give you some anti itch cream in my opinion it works the same as the extra strength anti itch cream you can buy from the grocery/drug store

because you are allergic to the bites that's why it is itched, and the more you scratch them the more they swell up. You seems to be very allergic to them so they swell up really big. its just like most other allergies that swell. When we itch a mosquito bite, we increase the irritation, the body produces more histamine which increases the irritation.

You have had an anaphylactic reaction to the mosquitos saliva, when he bit you. You need to see your doctor, this can be serious. You can take benedrly, or cortizone cream applied to the area, but don't rub it too hard, apply gently.
