Question: I think i might have a hernia help!?
okay about a week ago i tried a new type of exercise, dead lifts and lets say its not good. The next day my lower back was really sore along with my abdominal area. I have like this sore burning feeling, nothing intense though. scared i might be a hernia. I can run, body weight squat, march heavily in place, push ups, sit ups and have no pain whats so ever. my lower back is still sore too. i just hope i don't have a hernia. thanks.

Have you noticed an unusual lump in your lower abdomen or groin area Hernias usually present as painless lumps in the abdominal area or for men in the inguinal (scrotum) area. Sometimes if they are not severe the doctor can push them back into place without surgery. You should not try that yourself. If you have a hernia you need to get it checked as it will only get worse especially with your exercise regime. If your lower back is hurting after the dead lifts you are not using the proper muscles to lift. I'm sure you've heard this but always lift with your legs. Your leg muscles are the largest and strongest muscles in your body. This is a good link to a site about hernias.

I hope you feel better soon. I would go a little lighter on the dead weight lifting until the soreness is gone.
