Answers:

- Smoking slows healing by suppressing your immune system and blood circulation, you should avoid smoking for 2 - 3 weeks.

- Smoking can cause excess swelling and you must not smoke for the first 5 hours after having your tongue pierced - when you do smoke it is vital to rinse with boiled water to cleanse your mouth.

To be completely safe, it takes 6months to heal fully.

You can but stock up on mouthwash! You will have to rinse out your mouth every time so that there is no infections. But the best thing would be to not smoke at all.

Please don't do either. I know several who regretted it. If not done right cause heart attack. Smoking after having it done can give you blood poisoning. Reconsider.
